Overview
The county-wide Artspiration initiative within the Santa Clara County Office of Education grew out of a comprehensive master planning process, and was launched in 2010. With a recent leadership change, a move to the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) unit within the county office, and a national search for a new county superintendent, Artspiration staff is undertaking an evaluation of its dynamic arts education programs that include teacher professional development, advocacy, and community engagement. Renewed support for the initiative would enable staff to refresh and expand Artspiration’s programs, enhance communication and online resources, and mobilize parents, educators, and students as arts education advocates for equitable access to the arts.
