Overview
The California Alliance for Arts Education is the only statewide organization that brings together primary constituencies and advocates for arts education, annually serving more than 100,000 artists, arts organizations, K-12 teachers, state and local education departments, and parents and PTAs. The Alliance is a cornerstone grantee of Hewlett’s arts education efforts, an acknowledged key leader in the arts education advocacy field and a powerful ally in statewide efforts to increase arts education in the public school system. With an increased focus on deploying federal Title I dollars on arts education in California, the Alliance will convene administrators from 300 schools to raise awareness of the role the arts can play in achieving Title I goals, and develop an online system of tools and resources for educators.
