Overview
Formed in the fall of 2011, the Institute continues the work of the Power Plant Finance Project in analyzing the financial and economic risks and characteristics of coal and power companies, retrofits of existing coal plants, proposed coal plants, coal transport infrastructure projects, and mining projects. It also provides expert analysis and support for advocates around the nation on issues related to coal power, mining, pricing, exports, and financial misconduct. This is an integral part of our efforts to increase the ability of our advocates to pursue coal reductions by demonstrating the financial and investment risk to financial markets.
