National Council of Nonprofits

For Support Of The Acquisition Of CLPI And Strengthening Nonprofit Sector Advocacy Infrastructure

Overview
The National Council of Nonprofits works to protect and strengthen nonprofits in the United States. As a part of that work, the Council seeks to protect nonprofits’ legal rights to engage in advocacy and provide training and resources for nonprofits. Recently, the organization acquired the assets of the Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest. The Center was one of several organizations, including the Council, Independent Sector, and the Alliance for Justice, working on nonprofit advocacy. There were simply too many players given the limited operating capital. The National Council’s acquisition of the Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest consolidates these fragmented efforts, creating efficiencies and improving effectiveness.
