National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice

The National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health works to ensure the fundamental human right to reproductive health and justice for Latinas, their families, and their communities through public education, community mobilization, and policy advocacy. Founded in 1994, the Institute is the only national organization for Latina health and reproductive justice. This unrestricted grant would support the Institute’s work to shape public policy, cultivate new Latina leadership, engage and educate Latino communities through community-based participatory action research, and broaden the reproductive health and rights movement to reflect the unique needs of Latinas, an increasingly diverse and growing population in the United States. Diversifying the pro-choice movement is essential to long-term success, and during the prior grant period, the Institute was among the most important members of the pro-choice coalition. Its participation contributed to a number of important victories.
