Afrobarometer

Afrobarometer is a pan-African, nonpartisan survey research network that conducts public attitude surveys on democracy, governance, the economy, and society. The world’s leading source of high-quality data on what Africans are thinking, it has a network of more than 30 national partners responsible for data collection, analysis, and in-country dissemination of findings. Afrobarometer’s vision is a world in which Africa’s development is anchored in the realities and aspirations of its people. This grant will support Afrobarometer to ensure that the views and experiences of African citizens regarding climate change and environmental issues are reflected in national, regional, and international policy debates and decision-making processes. The two-year project will help Afrobarometer to produce, develop and implement a survey module on climate change, disseminate findings based on the climate change perception data, and conduct targeted stakeholder outreach to motivate accelerated climate policymaking and implementation.
