Overview
The Institute for Politics and Strategy (IPS) at Carnegie Mellon University fosters undergraduate and graduate students’ ability to think about politics systematically, requiring training in both quantitative and qualitative methods. It is a university-wide academic department that is fundamentally interdisciplinary with a focus on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, technology, and policy. A grant to IPS will support the institute generally, including (a) interdisciplinary cybersecurity education (which incorporates scholarships for under-represented minority students); (b) applied, interdisciplinary cyber policy research; (c) fellowships; and (d) other programming and engagement.
