Overview
A project of the World Affairs Council of Northern California, the Global Philanthropy Forum aims to build, sustain, and continuously revitalize a learning community of private donors and social investors committed to international causes — and to inform, enable, and enhance the strategic nature of their work. This grant supports the forum’s virtual conferences for 2020 and 2021. The September 2020 conference focused on ways to harness the power of philanthropy to beta-test big ideas and innovations in policy, society, science, finance, and technology to find solutions that address climate change. (Substrategy: Multilateral)

World Affairs is an independent, nonpartisan forum for exploring issues and opportunities that transcend borders. By convening over 150 programs, World Affairs engages thought leaders, change makers, and citizens to share ideas, learn from each other, and engage in conversations of public concern on global issues. Through these and other programs, in addition to on-air and online multimedia offerings, World Affairs provides the public and the community that it serves with the knowledge and networks they need to be better informed in their choices and actions that relate to global issues and international affairs. World Affairs benefits from a network of chapters throughout the Bay Area including in Contra Costa County, Marin County, the Peninsula, and Sacramento. These volunteer-run chapters offer programs bringing global issues to the attention of local communities.
