Overview
Founded in 1993, Joint Venture Silicon Valley (JVSV) brings together public and private sector leaders to provide analysis and catalyze action to address challenges and opportunities facing the region. To date, JVSV’s primary work has focused on two areas; for one, JVSV produces the Silicon Valley Index, a well-respected report chronicling the evolution of the valley as a rising economic and innovative power and providing an analytical basis for decision making. The organization also convenes local leaders to debate and address current issues. Recognizing the need for deeper regional analysis, JVSV is now seeking to launch the Silicon Valley Institute for Regional Studies, a think tank dedicated to addressing questions of growth and sustainability at the regional level. A grant from the Hewlett Foundation, matching an identical grant from Packard, would support the launch of this new Institute.
