For The Global Economy And Development Program

Overview
The Global Economy and Development program at Brookings Institution undertakes research and dialogue activities to shape the policy debate on how to manage globalization and fight global poverty. This grant will support the program’s work in four areas: (1) utilizing informed African voices to improve the impact of global policy decisions targeting Africa’s development challenges; (2) influencing the global development agenda, with a particular focus on the next round of international development goals; (3) improving analysis and governance of development efforts, including monitoring the progress of the Open Government Partnership; and (4) in the face of increasing inequity in some of the world’s fastest growing economies, examining how global economic trends and institutions can help promote broad, shared, and inclusive growth.

Brookings, in cooperation with Lawfare, aims to inform public debates on important questions of national security and effective governance through timely expert analysis focused on the health of American democracy. Amid partisanship and echo chambers, both policymakers and the public need objective information and analysis to help make informed opinions and policies that drive a healthier, more representative, and more secure America. for the advancement of gender equality on activities of the Center for Sustainable Development  
The Brookings Institution conducts in-depth research that leads to new ideas for solving problems facing society at the local, national, and global level. The Center for Sustainable Development at Brookings generates leading research and insights for advancing the development and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals within and across countries. The center is committed to generating evidence, tools, and policy recommendations that support networked societal leadership for sustainable development. This grant will support the center in advancing a new program on gender and sustainable development. (Strategy: International Women’s Economic Empowerment).
for support of research on Congress  
The Brookings Institution conducts independent, in-depth research that leads to pragmatic and innovative policy solutions. This grant enables the Brookings Governance Studies program to continue its research and analysis related to Congress and its ability to fulfill its constitutional and problem-solving responsibilities. The research team led by Senior Fellow Molly Reynolds will explore a range of congressional reforms, including ongoing efforts to modernize the House of Representatives and big-picture questions about the future of the Senate and its place in our democratic system. Other areas of focus include budget and appropriations process reform; congressional oversight; and congressional capacity, productivity, demographics, and related issues.
