Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
For more than 35 years, the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy has promoted philanthropy that serves the public good, is responsive to people and communities with the least wealth and opportunity, and holds itself accountable to the highest standards of integrity and openness. It self-identifies as the country’s independent watchdog and critical friend of foundations. Over time, institutional grantmakers, federal and state governments, and individuals have taken some of the committee’s recommendations and turned them into policy, such as the promotion of comprehensive financial reporting (annual reports) for foundations, which is now considered best practice in the sector. This grant provides general support as part of the Knowledge for Better Philanthropy strategy.
